We all hope that we will never be in this situation, but picture this......
It is the early hours of the morning and you are in a police cell. Perhaps you have had a few too many to drink or you are in personal distress. You are anxious as the police have not said anything to you following your arrest and you are cold. The cell smells. You do not know what is going to happen next and when you will be released.
Not a pleasant picture is it?
At McMillan Williams we have a number of experienced and skilled Criminal Law solicitors who offer a 24 hour, seven day a week service for suspects detained in police custody.
These solicitors will be able to advise you on the telephone or in person day or night regarding your rights, and the best way to respond to police questioning in interview. We are also able to follow these cases through to their conclusion whether it be a minor matter in the Magistrates Court or a very serious matter in the Crown Court and also appeals matters in the higher courts.
You have a right to legal advice whilst in the Police station which you should not be denying yourself. A call to McMillan Williams will secure clear and considered advice throughout the course of the police investigation and subsequent court proceedings.
Solicitors at McMillan Williams will also be able to advise and where necessary, issue proceedings on your behalf in respect of cases involving police harassment or injuries caused whilst in police custody. We have solicitors on the Criminal Duty Rota as well as an out of hours helpline. Our solicitors regularly practice in Courts in the local area and all over London and the South East region.
Our Crime Department is authorized by the Legal Services Commission to help defend those in trouble. Only specialist firms are allowed to do public funded defence work.
No case is unimportant to us and as a Legal Services Commission firm we offer a service of quality.
