David qualified as a solicitor in 2003, and joined the firm’s Private Client department in April 2008. As well as being a Solicitor David is also a qualified Financial Advisor (currently non – practicing). This dual qualification gives him a particular interest and specialty in trust work and inheritance tax planning matters. If there is a practical and appropriate way of mitigating possible tax bills David will help you find it. The dual qualification also assists greatly in the major areas of David’s work involving the administration of Deputyships and administration of estates.
David specialises in:
Court of Protection - David has a number of year’s experience of dealing with a large Court of Protection case load; David has specialist knowledge of working in high value matters including those connected to Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury proceedings involving serious brain injuries. He is used to dealing with all matters from simple routine applications on behalf of family members to be appointed as Deputy through to managing complex Deputyship’s involving matters such as investments of funds, purchase and sale of property, employment of care teams and managing construction work to properties.
Wills – David can advise on and prepare a variety of wills from those which are straightforward through to complex Will Trusts.
Administration of Estates – David deals with all areas of the administration of estates from obtaining a Grant of Probate (where there is a Will) or a Grant of Letters of Administration (where the deceased did not have a Will) through to complete managements of high value estates involving complex tax issues. David can also assist you in providing advice on your rights as a beneficiary of an estate or if you feel you have been unfairly excluded from a will.
Trusts – David deals with all areas of Trusts including drafting Trusts and Declarations of Trust in relation to property through to Administration of Trusts.
Tax planning – David can help plan and mitigate Inheritance Tax and Capital Gains Tax.
Powers of Attorney – David can advise you on preparing and registering a Lasting Power of Attorney with the Office of the Public Guardian.
Outside work, David’s interests include sports (football in particular as he is an avid Chelsea supporter) and spending time with his young family.
