Denise qualified as a Solicitor in 1995. After qualifying she worked initially in the North East of England. She joined McMillan Williams in 1996 and became a Partner in 2007.
Denise specialises in Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence claims. She has a particular interest in cases involving brain injury.
She is involved with the Kent Acquired Brain Injury Forum (KABIF) a group dedicated to advancing the brain injury agenda in Kent.
She handles all of the claims to the Motor Insurers Bureau (MIB) an organisation which deals with claims by injured parties against uninsured and untraced drivers.
She has experience of dealing with a vast number of claims involving Road Traffic Accidents, Public Liability, Occupiers’ Liability, Employers’ Liability, Product Liability, GP and Dental Negligence, Obstetrics/Gynaecology, MRSA, Clostridium difficile and general surgical claims. Her experience ranges from moderate injuries, where a full recovery is made, to cases involving permanent disability and fatalities.
Denise is committed to achieving the maximum amount of compensation for her clients in the shortest possible time. Denise appreciates that brain injuries not only affect the injured party but that they also have a dramatic effect on their family and friends, She therefore strives to make sure that the claims process is as stress free as possible for the Claimant ensuring that the Claimant receives the maximum amount of support and rehabilitation. She ensures that her clients with catastrophic injuries receive a substantial, early interim payment to enable them and their families to have funding available for provision of support, rehabilitation, care and accommodation. She is relentless in the pursuit of a claim ensuring that her clients achieve the best possible outcome.
Denise has pursued claims in the High Court and County Court. She undertakes publicly funded (Legal Services Commission) work, Conditional Fee Agreement (“no win no fee”) work and privately funded work.
During 2010 Denise recovered over £6.5 million in damages for her clients.
Denise has three young children who occupy most of her time outside of her professional duties.
Her involvement in the local community includes coaching a children’s football team and taking part in church activities.
She also holds a PADI open water scuba diving certificate.
