Henry Oghoetuma

Henry qualified as a Solicitor in 1996 and joined the firm in 1999. He is the firm’s Criminal Litigation Supervisor and Head of Department. Henry is the lead defence lawyer of an expanding criminal department. A well known Criminal Practitioner within the local Courts. He was the last Chairman of the Croydon Duty Solicitor Committee Scheme having previously held the post of Administrator of the Scheme since 1999.

Henry is a member of the Bromley, Camberwell, Croydon, Sutton, Wimbledon Duty Solicitors Schemes. His first rate client care skills have enabled him to build a large client not limited to the immediate locality.

Henry has successfully handled many high profile cases including several Murder cases, very serious Sexual Assaults, Drugs Importation cases, Money Laundering, Rape and other Sexual Offences against children and Perverting the course of justice. A number of these cases have received local, national and international media attention. (See press releases in the Legal Update).

Henry played a leading role in 2001 when Croydon Magistrates Court came under threat of being closed by the GLMCA (see article on the website entitled – Lawyers Defend Threatened Court).

Henry is a skilled Advocated who punches above his weight in Court. In the past Henry has provided law tutoring to students.

Henry also specialises in Children Matters. He undertakes both public law (Child Care) and private law (Children Act matters), very often acting for parents although he has taken instructions from the Official Solicitors Office. He also undertakes divorce.

On a social level, Henry is in love with the “beautiful game” – football and is an ardent supporter of Arsenal.
