I joined McMillan Williams in September 2005 as a Paralegal in the Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury Department.

I had previous completed my Law Degree at Kingston University, going on to complete my LPC at the College of Law, Guildford, in June 2005.

As soon as I started at McMillan Williams I was made to feel part of a team, not only by the Solicitors and trainees within my department but also by the trainees as a whole.  I found this support network especially helpful within my first few months and still very helpful to this day.

McMillan Williams operates an open door policy so there is always someone available to answer any questions that you have and the firm actively encourages trainees and paralegals to socialise outside of work so there is a strong sense of team spirit.

I found that in my year as a paralegal I was given the experience and responsibility from early on which gave me a head start once I started my training contract in September 2006.  I feel that I have gained more as a trainee at McMillan Williams as I had already gained that base knowledge as a paralegal before starting my training contract.

I am currently seconded to another local firm as one of my training seats, which specialises in construction law, after I expressed an interest in working in this area.  McMillan Williams was not able to offer me training in this area but showed their willingness to assist me in my career by helping me to secure this secondment.

Outside of work I enjoy socialising with my friends and going to the gym on a regular basis.
