In 1986 Michael established the firm of White & Sherwin with his Partner Richard White, a niche firm specialising solely in the law relating to children. In April 2007 Michael Sherwin joined McMillan Williams as a Consultant.
Michael has been a member of the Law Society's Children Panel since 1987. He is also on the Lord Chancellor's list of solicitors able to undertake child abduction work cases on behalf of "left behind" parents. Michael is a part-time Chairman of the Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunal.
Michael advises a number of charities in respect of their work relating to children and also undertakes private client work on all matters under the Child Abduction and Custody Act 1985, Children Act 1989, the Adoption and Children Act 2002 and any other area of law relating to the welfare of children.
Outside work he enjoys spending time with his family, watching cricket, singing and conducting.
