Neil Perôt
Family/Care
Neil acts for individuals who find themselves in unusual and distressing circumstances. He deals with matters on a daily basis which most people would find inherently difficult to deal with. He does this with a sympathetic and understanding approach. Neil is often recommended to clients by other Lawyers, professional agencies working with children and vulnerable adults, the Court service (and related areas) and existing clients. He has always taken the view that if his fellow professionals are prepared to recommend him that is the best endorsement possible.
Neil oversees the Family and Child Law Department.
Neil has extensive experience in all proceedings relating to children, including Care Proceedings, Private Law Children Act Proceedings (residence, contact and related proceedings), special guardianship, adoption, child abduction and surrogacy.
Neil acts for children, parents, grandparents and extended family members. Neil often receives personal referrals to act for parents with learning difficulties and grandparents.
Neil is often instructed by Guardians in Private Law Children Act Proceedings and advises professionals including adoption agencies, advocacy services and other national organisations.
Neil is acknowledged for his thorough but sensitive handling of complex and difficult cases.
Neil heads the team of Family Lawyers who undertake work across the eleven branches of the firm. The Family and Child Law Department has a very good, strong reputation as a result of the quality and skill of the Lawyers within the team, who are able to deal with all areas of Family and Child Law.
Neil keeps abreast of developments generally in the area of family and child law, having overall responsibility for this department.
In his spare time Neil is a fan of a good drama series; tries to watch or see Chelsea at every opportunity; and enjoys a good night out with his family and friends if he has enough energy having spent as much time as possible with his wife and two young children.
