Nicola Prior

Company and Commercial

Nicola Prior is a solicitor and the sole principal of Prior Law.

After studying music at Oxford University, she started her career in the record industry and spent eight years with Decca Records in the marketing and promotion departments.

A decision to change careers led to the legal conversion course, final exams, a training contract with Radcliffes Solicitors and admission as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales in 1996.

Before establishing Prior Law in 2004, Nicola practised as a solicitor in private practice for eight years in the City of London, principally with Hardwick Stallards (now DMH Stallard) and Nicholson Graham & Jones (now Kirkpatrick & Lockhart Nicholson Graham LLP). She has always specialised exclusively in company law and has gained considerable expertise regarding corporate transactions and procedures over the years. It is not every corporate solicitor who can say that she sold Sooty to Thomas the Tank Engine!

Recent transactions have included acting for a national adoption charity on its merger with another national charity, the disposal of an international language school, giving partnership law advice to clients who provide services to a major Swedish DIY chain and the corporate reorganisation and partial disposal of a chain of nursing homes.

Nicola is a fluent French speaker.
