Terence joined McMillan Williams in 1999 having qualified as a solicitor at Carter Lemon a medium sized commercial property firm situated off Chancery Lane.
A Law (LLB) Graduate of Sheffield University, Terence has acted on a wide range of Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury cases ranging from road traffic accident claims to Fatal accident Act claims and multimillion pound catastrophic injury claims. His experience includes GP and Dental negligence claims. He has successfully settled trichology (hair) cases and has built up an expertise in dealing with Erbs palsy and brachial plexus birth injury cases. Terence also has experience of obstetric/gynaecology and urological claims. He has acted in work related accident claims and injury by process claims including asbestosis. His work includes Professional Negligence claims. Terence also specializes in civil actions against the Police.
Terence recently settled a claim where a female Claimant’s spinal accessory nerve was negligently damaged resulting in restricted movement in her left arm. The £170,000 settlement included £100,000 for future child care and home help costs even though the Claimant was several years from attempting to start a family. Therefore Terence successfully pursues aspects of claims that appear speculative and has settled a large number of claims that on face value seemed “unwinnable”.
He is described as transmitting to his clients an infectious interest and enthusiasm for successfully settling their claims balanced against the inherent risks of engaging in litigation.
Terence has High Court Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury trial experience. He undertakes public funded (Legal Services Commission) work, Conditional Fee Agreement (“no win no fee”) work and privately funded work.
Outside the law Terence is a keen guitarist. He was guitarist for the Deptford Gospel Chorale for 8 years, playing in concert at a variety of venues and completing recording studio work for the Chorale. He is the founder and bandleader of 5th Chapter a jazz-fusion band. He has completed a counselling course, is a DIY enthusiast, swims and works out regularly and has received an award for creative writing.
